SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (BAKERY, BEAUTY PARLOUR AND BUSINESS TRAINING)

We were so glad to bounce back to our old routine  and we began with training youths to be independent and skilled  to emerge as new entrepreneurs.

We coordinated with WorldRenew, Friends of Shanku, New Sringar Beauty Parlour, CrossWay Community Church, and Higher Ground Bakery, and organized 10 days of Intensive Bakery and Business Training at CrossWay Community Church Hall and Beauty Parlour Training at New Sringar Beauty Parlour.

On 3rd Jan 2021, 20 participants from Friends of Shanku, Sindhupalanchowk, and 2 individuals from Pokhara gathered at the CrossWay Community Seminar hall with anticipation to learn Baking, Beauty Parlour and Business (Microenterprise), and commitment to initiate business or profession after the training.

On the first day morning, there was zesty engagement through the registration and introduction; a brief orientation to the participants about the organization by Chairperson Ms. Bimala Shtrestha Pokharel. Correspondingly, present representatives from Friends of Sankhu, World Renew, and New Sringar Beauty Parlour— Mr. Madhu Sudhan Poudel, Dr. Mukti Suvedi, and Ms. Neeru Shrestha spoke few words about them and their organizations respectively. All the organization’s representatives welcomed the participants and encouraged them with motivational words of support and best wishes.

In the following days, the intensive Bakery Training began at HGCDN’s Training Hall with familiarity between Bakery trainee and Baking ingredients and baking appliances facilitated by HG Bakery Pastry Chef/HGCDN Training Facilitator Ms. Rupmati Jirel.
Simultaneously, Beauty Parlour training was ongoing at New Sringar Beauty Parlour under the facilitation of Trainer/Beautician Ms. Neeru Shrestha, assisted by Volunteer Associate Miss Kajol Karki.

Likewise, the second half of the day was pre-occupied with Business (Micro-enterprise) Training sessions. The session was more based on relevant teachings based on Partners Worldwide’s micro-business curriculum and was facilitated by Ms. Bimala Shrestha Pokharel, Dr. Mukti Suvedi, and Guest facilitator Mr. Rishi Kesh Tiwari.
Finally, on the Graduation Day of Bakery, Beauty Parlour, and Business training, the event was flavourful with inspiring training journey tale by participants and motivating case stories by Ms. Bimala Shrestha Pokharel accompanied by mouth-watering delicious Banana muffin, pastry, and pizza baked by Bakery trainees. The moment was showered with best wishes, certificates, and token of love ceremony. Last but not the least, all the participants graduated from their business training on the same day morning back to their home next day.

We congratulate each participant who attended the entire Bakery, Beauty parlor, and Business (Microenterprise) Training and wishes them all the best to grow and prosper in their profession and encourage them to initiate business in every possible corner of Nepal to plant the seed of sustainable livelihood and fight poverty in their communities and wherever they go.
